It’s looking ‘Good’ at Karenza

26th June 2019

The independent regulator for health and adult social care, also known as the Care Quality Commission (CQC), paid us a visit earlier this year to inspect our Karenza home.

CQC consider five key questions when they visit, asking whether the service is:

  • Caring
  • Responsive
  • Well-led
  • Effective

They then provide a rating on each category…

This years inspection awarded Karenza with a ‘Good’ rating for the overall service as well as in all five categories inspected. This means that Karenza is performing well and meeting CQC’s expectations.

The inspection report specifically highlights the home’s ability to promote independence and treat everyone with kindness and compassion. An inspector from CQC said that Karenza had a positive atmosphere that “promotes person-centred, high-quality care and support”.

Karenza’s Manager Sandra said that she felt “proud to receive the rating especially because there were no negatives in the report at all! The staff make Karenza the home that it is”.

We want to thank Sandra and all the staff at Karenza for their continued hard work and commitment to the residents and the home, and for making it such a positive place to live and work.

Well done!
